Case Study:
"We have a noisy production floor. When we give a tour it is difficult for the tour guide to hear a question being asked by an attendee. The tour guide needs to walk over to the attendee and carefully listen to the question, then repeat the question so everyone else can hear it. Isn’t there a simpler and less time consuming method of gathering attendee questions?"
Solution:
You bet! Our wireless question and answer microphone can be passed to the attendee. When the question is asked, all of the attendees, including the tour guide, hear the question loud and clear in their headphones. Another advantage is that it enables the tour guide to maintain continuity and control of the tour. In other words, questions are not entertained until the tour guide is ready to pass the Q&A mic to an attendee.
Side Benefit: During a tour stop at a sophisticated piece of production equipment, the tour guide can pass this microphone to the machine operator so he / she can describe what is happening at that particular work station.
Additional Information:
The “Pass Around” Question & Answer Microphone consists of a rectangular shaped transmitter has an attached “stem” microphone. This allows you to simply “pass around” this handheld transmitter to attendees to gather questions. The person talking into this microphone will be heard by all the attendees and the tour guide. We have included an additional personal receiver and a headphone for the tour guide so that he / she will be able to hear the questions. Adding this additional receiver and headphone eliminates the need to “rob” one of the attendee receivers and headphones.
The tour guide’s personal receiver, plus a ‘repeater receiver’ (which ‘listens to’ the signal from the Q&A microphone), and the system’s ‘master transmitter’ are housed in pouches that are attached to an adjustable belt (supplied). The tour guide simply puts the belt around his/her waist and plugs in a microphone and a set of headphones.
PLEASE NOTE: When the tour group is not utilizing this microphone for Q&A applications, it can be used by a ‘secondary tour guide’ (i.e. a plant manager or a department head) that wants to attend an executive tour and be able to “chime in” to supplement the tour guide’s presentation. It can also be used as a tour stop presenter microphone. Thus, a machine operator or a lead man can use this mic to talk to the attendees about what process is occurring at this tour stop.
